:mad:Look, I just tried a post to the Palouse 9.12 Project that explained a bug. For the severalth time.
It did not take. I logged out, logged back in, and the thread reporting the bug is not there. That might ALSO be a little Buggy.

Rick, you're going to have to give us a little more to go on than that. You are the first person to mention any kind of a problem. If you can be a bit more specific as to what kind of problem you are having it will be very helpful.

Rick,

Sorry you are having troubles. As Jeff said, you are the first to mention that something is wrong. Can you give me more information? Maybe we can duplicate your problem.

What Operating System are you running? (Windows, Mac)
What web browser? (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari)
What steps can you document to reproduce the issue?
What error messages did you encounter if any?

Ian,
don't know if this will help, but here is my experience. When I am signed in and take too long composing a post, I will often get 'logged out'. I have never calculated how long before I am logged out of the system.

When I hit the post button, a new log-in page pops up. When I log in, it proceeds to post my entry and then redirects me to the front page index.

(I use windows vista, firefox browser.)

I do remember, a couple of weeks ago, getting hung up and getting error messages when this happened (if memory serves, something about being logged in from another window?) Fortunately I could use the back tab to return to everything I had typed. I finally had to cut and paste my text, close the Palouse 9-12 project tab, and open it again in order to get my post to go through. But I don't remember any details beyond that.

Hope you can get things squared away for this member.

P

I think that's a browser cookie/security issue, not a function of vbulletin. Once I am logged in, I stay logged in until I log out. We're talking weeks or months.

Because this is a web-based application, in my 8 years of being an admin on vBulletin forums, I have found that most errors are browser (end-user) based.

Interesting. When I am logged in, I can post a new thread to the "Report A Bug" page, but can't seem to post a new thread anywhere else without getting re-directed to the log in page ad infinitum.
Like you, I'm betting it is a cookie issue, because obviously I seem to be the only guy having this trouble. Well, I have a practice of deleting cookies whenever I'm on the Net, for security reasons, so if I'm going to use the site to start new threads, I guess you'll have to fix this.
Or, as an alternative, I can just start posting my new threads to the "Report a Bug" site?
I'm using Windows Explorer on a new Dell laptop in 64-bit mode.

I'd be interested to know how it works in a more compliant browser like firefox (http://www.mozilla.com), safari (http://www.apple.com/safari/download/) or chrome (http://www.google.com/chrome) as I haven't been able to duplicate this problem.
