Is there a reason why the feature of displaying YouTube videos is turned off?

Probably turned off by default. I'll try to get in and switch that on...

Posting youtube videos works now. You should see a youtube button in the editing toolbar. See the bbcode (http://palouse912project.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode#youtube) for this feature.
