Hey P9-12P members,
The poll has 160 views, but only 14 have answered (thanks to those who clicked on a choice already). Do you know how hard it is to plan an event when 90% of our 150 members are unresponsive?!
So far, we have about 30 people planning to attend the Memorial Day EAT-n-CHAT barbeque on 5/25/09. If more folks plan to come that haven't piped up, we need to hear from you ASAP. (Normally we wouldn't care, but sincer we're providing burgers and tableware, it requires some planning!)
If under 65 people RSVP, we'll change venues to Kamiak Butte Park (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=N+Grand+Ave,+Pullman,+Whitman,+Washington+99 163&daddr=Kamiak+Butte&hl=en&geocode=FfQoyQId4w8E-Q%3BCZjqhdj4K3YDFXhBywIduHIE-SHGBHOSt1TgGQ&gl=us&mra=pe&mrcr=0&sll=46.972756,-117.079239&sspn=0.216461,0.477219&ie=UTF8&ll=46.808989,-117.14447&spn=0.217123,0.477219&z=11), in WA. If significantly more attend, we'll probably keep it at Robinson Lake Park (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=S+Mountain+View+Rd,+Moscow+Idaho&daddr=Robinson+Lake+Park&geocode=%3BCR-j75uWW8oKFVhtyQId0hsI-SFC62zag9FMPA&hl=en&mra=pe&mrcr=0&sll=46.569273,-116.972394&sspn=0.436177,0.954437&ie=UTF8&z=13).
If we go with Kamiak Butte, we'll still plan to meet around 2. Those up for a short hike can head to the top on a wide, 1.5 long path for a beautiful panoramic view of the Palouse. Hikers can choose to do the full loop (across the top and down the narrow, steep trail) or go back down the way they came. Around 5 we'll enjoy primo burgers donated by Eric McGilp. Bring a salad and dessert to share and your own beverages (and a small donation to cover costs of buns, condiments, etc.)
Do we agree that rain cancels, or do attendees want to brave the elements? As a fair-weather picnicker, I vote for the "rain cancels" clause.
Just a simple EAT-n-CHAT -- no program or planned activities except for a little hike and a lovely play area for kidlets. And lots of great conversation!
Looking for feedback -- everything's tentative and we need a better idea of numbers to know if we need to shell out $$ to reserve the Robinson Lake Park location.
So please, go to the poll to RSVP (http://palouse912project.com/forums/showthread.php?t=359)if you haven't already done so. There is a 'no' choice and even a 'maybe' choice for those who aren't sure yet. It would be nice to see a majority of members responding (vs. only 14).
Thanks for your helpful responses to assist Robyn and me in coordinating this event.
